Urban League to Host Community Reception and CEO Welcome for Michael P. McMillan

On Thursday, December 12, 2013, the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, Inc. will host a Community Reception and Welcome from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Sheldon Concert Hall for its new President/CEO Michael P. McMillan.

At the event, McMillan plans to announce the launch of the Whitney M. Young Society, a special membership for outstanding donors and volunteers of the Urban League. Young, a former National Urban League president and civil rights leader during the 1960’s, played a pivotal role in the Civil Rights movement participating in the March on Washington and working with President John F. Kennedy and President Lyndon B. Johnson on the Civil Rights Act and War on Poverty legislations.
