The Urban League has received additional support for the LIHEAP program from the Missouri Family Support Division, Ameren, Spire, Heat Up St. Louis, Inc. and Cool Down St. Louis, Inc.
Who Is Eligible?
Requirements for energy assistance are based on income, family size and funding. You must provide photocopies of social security cards for everyone in the household, prior month’s proof of income, most recent gas and electric bills. Households should meet income guidelines based on household size. Caseworkers in Contracted Agencies provide information concerning requirements. The agency providing services for your area can be located on the Contracted Agencies link and by selecting the residential county on the map.

The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis LIHEAP Program accepts applications on Monday -Friday 8 am-12 pm, Drop box available 12 noon- 5 pm at the Urban League Reginal Headquarters at 1408 North Kingshighway Blvd. - St. Louis, Missouri 63113.

The Missouri Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) has two components: Energy Assistance/Regular Heating (EA) and Energy Crisis Intervention Program (ECIP). EA is designed to provide financial assistance to help pay heating bills for Missourians. EA is now available from October through September. Eligibility requirements for EA are based on income, household size, available resources, and responsibility for payment of home heating costs. Eligibility for EA may also qualify individuals for additional financial assistance through ECIP. Through LIHEAP, the Urban League is able to help more than 15,000 families in St. Louis City and Wellston.
