The Division of Public Safety and Community Response, is to reduce crime and violence by connecting neighborhood residents with necessary services and viable resources. The vision of the Urban League of Metropolitan- St. Louis’ Division of Public Safety and Community Response is to reduce crime and violence, and make neighborhood more livable. This is accomplished by connecting neighborhood residents with necessary services and viable resources, and organizing neighborhood / block level activities that restore the social fiber of the targeted neighborhoods. With a focus on “high risk” individuals and families we are able to address the growing social disparities impacting neighborhoods.
Pandemic ReliefThe Urban League, through its Division of Public Safety and Community Response, quickly developed a strategy to execute large-scale, drive-through food and PPE distributions in St. Louis City and County.

Neighborhood Healing NetworkThe Neighborhood Healing Network is an expansive strategic partnership between five organizations to serve individuals who have experienced, crime, violence or been the victim of an incident that has resulted in trauma.

Neighborhood Opioid TriageUrban Opioid Triage addresses the opioid problem by providing compassionate street level outreach to the many suffering from addiction and congregating in open air drugs markets.

Clean SweepClean Sweep is a groundbreaking initiative that serves the regions most challenged neighborhoods. Through Clean Sweep each year, vacant and abandoned properties (beyond repair) are targeted and demolished.

Federation of Block UnitThe Federation of Block Units is the oldest self-help grassroots organization in the St. Louis area. The
Federation is committed to improving and stabilizing neighborhoods through: Education and Youth Services, Senior Services, Housing and Crime Prevention, general support for The Urban League program, and Civic Engagement and Advocacy. |
Cure ViolenceThe Cure Violence Initiative is guided by a clear understanding that violence is a health issue. It also understands that individuals and communities can change for the better, and that community partners and strategic partnerships are the crucial ingredients to success.
