Serving Our Streets
Serving Our Streets’ key social lens is: Neighborhood, Front Porch, Living Room (or the N.P.L.) Serving Our Streets is proven to reduce crime, and violence, while making neighborhoods more livable. Our mission is centered around 5 pillars: These pillars directly impact many issues that prevent progression within the most challenged neighborhoods of urban communities.
Pillar 1: Household Engagement Urban Engagement Specialist visit homes and conduct a non-intrusive assessment. This assessment gages the needs of every member of the household. Pillar 2: Household Assessment The Urban Engagement Specialist completes a non-intrusive assessment of the family. Each family member’s social service needs are captured. Pillar 3: Neighborhood Based Case Management Each household is assigned to a case manager. The case manager builds a relationship with the head of household. The case manager contacts the head of household 2-3 times a week. To determine of resources are tailored to family’s needs and the family is taking advantage of opportunities. Pillar 4: Resource Delivery Case managers, and Urban Engagement Specialists work in tandem to ensure the family feels supported. Pillar 5: Neighborhood Organizing and Events Fragmentation is present in many neighborhoods. Neighbors to neighborhood contact and communication is non-existent. This breakdown in communication leads to accountability issues, and basic information sharing. By organizing neighborhood events and activities, we are strengthening the foundation of more challenged neighborhoods. |
